Description
From the time Ausco invented the spring-applied, hydraulically released, multi-disc brake, they have been the technology leader and today offer a wide variety of both wet and dry brakes to fit nearly any application. Ausco multi-disc brakes serve on everything from loaders and cotton harvesters to oil rig equipment, cranes, aerial work platforms and boom lifts. These brakes are designed to fit between a gearbox and a motor.

The Ausco Multi-Disc Brake is spring loaded to apply the brake, and hydraulic pressure is required to release the brake.

Normal Operation is to have the brakepressurised in the released position with the vehicle hydraulic system running.

Any function which reduces the hydraulic system pressure below the release pressure of the brake will allow the springs to apply the brake.
